Ji Earth

If Wu Earth is the mountain, Ji is the tillable field at its foot. A field's worth lies not in itself but in what it grows — Ji's energy always points toward completing something else: whatever seed arrives, it grows.

The Di Tian Sui calls Ji "low, moist, centered, storing": humble in posture, holding water, hiding nutrients. That is the Ji Day Master's base color — never grabbing height or spotlight, trading nourishment for harvest, the most quintessential behind-the-scenes enabler of the ten stems.

Ji Day Masters are easygoing, meticulous and practical, absorbing resources, contacts and information like nutrients and quietly channeling them to whoever needs them. They are born caretakers and excellent listeners.

The weaknesses are thin boundaries and a muted sense of self: refusing no one, they get depleted; their own needs always land last on the list; thoughts stay churned inside (Earth governs rumination, and Ji ruminates most). Excessive Ji drowns in trivia and worry; a weak Ji is thin soil that cannot feed many crops. Learning to screen the seeds is Ji's first lesson.

Ji suits paths of cultivation and operations: human resources, education, nursing and care, community building, agriculture and food, customer success — every role about growing people and things. Ji's compound interest accrues in long-term relationships.

In an organization Ji is the ultimate steward and talent soil: newcomers thrive under them, and resources passing through their hands are never wasted. What to avoid: pure assault roles and high-conflict arenas — a field builds no walls, and sending Ji to siege warfare is a mismatch.

In love Ji is gentle and enduring, turning affection into the steadiness of daily meals: remembering what you cannot eat, keeping the household's quiet order. Nothing dramatic — and nearly impossible to replace.

Jia-Ji is the "upright combination": tall, responsible Jia Wood types feel a natural pull toward Ji — the tree roots into the fertile field, one giving direction, the other nourishment, among the most complementary of the five combinations. Ji's lesson is voicing needs: even farmland needs fallow seasons and fertilizer. Endless giving turns soil barren — dare to say "I need, too."

Ji is strong in the four Earth months and the Fire months Si/Wu; attacked by spring Wood, chilled damp in winter.

Seasonal remedies: Ji's ideal kit is Bing plus Gui — sun to warm the field, rain to irrigate it; add Jia Wood to loosen the soil and the structure ranks high. Ji's taboos are Ren Water's flood (the field drowns into mire) and stacked dry Earth (hardpan no plow can turn). Strength follows month and rooting; preferences follow the whole chart.
