Fire

The archetype of Fire is the midsummer sun and the candle in the dark: heat, light, visibility. The classics describe Fire as "flaming upward" — its energy always rises and disperses outward. Everything about expression, display, broadcast and heat belongs to Fire: the stage, the media, the brand, the social arena.

Yang Fire (Bing) is the sun — radiant, open-handed, shining on everyone without asking return. Yin Fire (Ding) is the lamp flame — focused, enduring, warming those nearby in the dark. One dazzles, the other glows: two faces of the same element.

Strong-Fire people are warm, outgoing and contagious — quick to react, quick to speak, natural igniters of any room. Fire governs propriety: they care about face, occasion and the feelings of an audience, sincerely.

Their strengths are expressiveness and momentum; their weaknesses are thin patience and emotional volatility — fast to ignite, fast to burn out, prone to three-minute passions. Excessive Fire turns rash and scorching in speech. Weak Fire reads as stage-shy and self-effacing: much done, little seen.

Fire maps to industries of light and heat: media and livestreaming, marketing, entertainment, food and beverage, energy and power, and the attention economy at large — plus every front-of-stage role: speaker, seller, brand front-person.

Strong-Fire people belong in the spotlight and the vanguard, translating the team's work into a story the world hears. Chaining them to long solitary detail-checking wastes their nature. Conversely, a weak-Fire chart that favors Fire can deliberately choose Fire-type environments, borrowing the industry's flame to feed its own.

In relationships the Fire type is an illuminator: proactive, direct, loving loudly, hopeless at cold wars and guessing games. What Fire truly needs is response — warmth thrown into a void is its deepest fear.

In element dynamics, Wood feeds Fire: a Wood partner's planning and support is Fire's best fuel. Fire generates Earth: Fire instinctively wants to warm and protect the Earth type. Water controls Fire: a Water partner's calm can temper Fire's impulsiveness — or extinguish its passion. The ideal, as the I Ching's hexagram "After Completion" suggests, is heat and cool regulating each other, not putting each other out.

Excessive Fire: impatience, impulsiveness, scorching speech, and health-wise a flag on the cardiovascular system and sleep — Fire rules the heart. Remedy logic: vent into Earth (turn heat into concrete results) and balance with Water (build in cool-headed review).

Deficient Fire: fear of expression, low presence, a tilt toward pessimism. Strengthen with Wood (a visionary mentor or team) and deliberate small doses of the stage to accumulate positive feedback; avoid long stays in cold, dispiriting environments. Final judgment always rests on the month branch and the whole chart, not a head-count of Fire characters.
